Encore Classes

Learning throughout the school day involves education of the arts during our encore time. Encore takes place each day for 45 minutes. Ball Camp students have access to extend their education with a rotation of the following classes every five school days:

  • Art
  • Physical Education
  • STEM
  • Library
  • Music

These classes teach students skills that are aligned to state standards in these content areas.

Physical Education

Through physical education our school will develop individuals who have the skills, knowledge, and confidence for a lifetime of physical activity. This involves promoting healthy growth and development, teaching skills essential for various sports, and fostering a commitment to lifelong healthy choices.

Art

In art class students will develop foundational skills, creativity, and critical thinking. Exceptional art from various grade levels is displayed in the glass cases outside the office. Our students study techniques and take time to plan out their artwork. We have beautiful art created by our students throughout the school.

Music

In music class, students are provided experiences that develop students' understanding of music. Lessons focus on creating, performing, listening to, and analyzing music. Additionally, several local organizations like the Knoxville Symphony and Hardin Valley High band partner with us to bring music education to life for our students.

STEM

Ball Camp Elementary is one of the Knox County Schools that offer STEM as part of the encore rotation. Students have the opportunity to learn about the engineering design process and problem solving with limitations using hands on materials.
